Tasting Pink Moscato Opera Prima

Tasting Compos De luz Red Spanish Garnacha

Name: Compos De Luz Red Spanish Garnacha
Variety: Mostly Garnacha, although there are also parcels of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Tempranillo, Chardonnay, Macabeo and Moscatel.
Region: Rioja down to the Priorat
Country: Spain
Price:

Critic: The Ebro runs north-west to south-east across the top of Spain, and wine is cultivated along most of its length. Historically many of the regions planted Garnacha, from Rioja down to the Priorat. Although much of these plantations have been replaced with other varieties, there are still area where Garnacha dominates, like in the DO Cariñena, where it is 60% of the area planted. This dry and sunny region is perfect for the Garnacha grapes and lead us to the name of Campos de Luz

What I taste: Strong strong aroma of fruity essence. Citrus with some taste of Lemon, Slight bitterness, Warm tingling sensation at the end.

Tasting FireSteed

Name: Fire Steed
Variety: Pinot Noir
Region: Oregon
Country: U.S.A
Price: $7.99

Critic: In 2009, after a successful bloom and fruit-set, a hot July and warm August helped grapes ripen through the summer. Harvest began in the last week of September and continued well into October, dodging a few drops of rain here and there.
Our 2009 Pinot Noir continues the Firesteed tradition of consistent fruity style, achieved with gentle techniques in the cellar and imagination in the vineyard. The grapes were fermented in stainless steel tanks with selected yeasts propagated from cellars in Burgundy, pressed during the last days of fermentation, and racked as soon as the wine finished malolactic fermentation. Just a touch of barrel-aged wine was included in the blend to round out the flavors and enhance complexity.
Garnet in color with aromas of raspberries, cedar, leather and exotic spices, the wine's berry and cherry flavors are framed by soft tannins and continue throughout its on the lingering finish. Grapes for this wine, as in previous years, were sourced from throughout the Willamette, Umpqua, Rogue and Walla Walla Valleys, creating a truly Oregon blend.

What I taste: Sour and Citrus taste are very strong with this drink. Light very light with tannins taste. aromas of raspberries. Detected slight trace of alcohol warm to the stomach.

Tasting Prochaine

Name: Prochaine
Variety: 100% Chardonnay
Region: Languedoc
Country:
Price: $13.99

Critic: The Prochaine is an excellent example of a Chardonnay with some oak influence under $15 that isn't completely over-oaked. An unusual and delectable Chardonnay from the Languedoc region of France. This wine is aged on the lees from a Viognier fermentation with constant stirring (battonage). These Viognier lees give the wine distinct, easy to enjoy, flavors of pineapple, mango, and passion fruit. A favorite at our wine bar as well.

What I taste: The best smelling wine that I had that day. It has a very strong rosy smell. Detected some oak taste, and some sourness, and small sting.
